We are a Forum - led by parents and carers for parents and carers.
We believe that 'Every Child Matters' and that all disabled children and young people in Haringey, should have access to the same opportunities, experiences and information, as any other child.
Our mission is to raise awareness, influence change and support parents and carers to have a voice in how the services for disabled children are shaped and delivered locally.
Our vision is to encourage parents and carers to actively participate in the service planning and decision making processes within the local authority.
We aim to achieve this by the following:
- Listen to parents
We listen to our members issues that are raised. We will ensure that the concerns of parents and carers in Haringey are clearly heard.
- Supporting and Training Parents
We will support and train parents, so that they are able to work with the professionals who provide the services for disabled children and young people.
- Representing our Members
We will ensure that your concerns and issues are heard. We will present your views to Haringey's Disabled Children's Team and any other relevant organisations and bodies within health, education and social care.
- Information to Members
We will provide our members with up to date information about services within health, education and social care affecting families and ensure that parents and carers have every opportunity to participate in the decision making process.
Currently our steering group is as follows:
- Lisa Ferguson
- Kenton Doyle
